Azul Optics
“We were really pleased to have taken our seed round from BPEC, a group that helps local members with global experience invest in local businesses with global aspirations. Our interactions with Denis and Jerry have been refreshingly upfront, open and honest and finalising our investment with them was both relaxed and professional. They have been really supportive when we needed their help, and we look forward to continued partnership with BPEC.“
Azul Optics is Bristol based start-up developing a new device to assess an aspect of eye health that is a risk factor for age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause blindness in the western world. Our device offers optometrists an easy, fast and affordable means to identify those at increased risk, enabling them to provide customised care to those who will benefit most. Our market is global, but sales in the UK will begin in 2018. We are supported by a grant from Innovate UK and a seed round investment from BPEC and the University of Bristol Park Walk fund.
